Lauren Fox (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with children, teens, and families. Lauren earned her Masters of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Rhode Island in 2016. Lauren is a proud military spouse and as a result of multiple moves has multiple state licenses. As a relational therapist, Lauren takes a strengths-based and collaborative approach with all individuals in the room. She strives to create a safe environment that fosters a positive and trusting therapist/client relationship. Lauren utilizes various treatment methods including Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, crisis intervention, Dialectical-behavioral therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, somatic therapy and Cognitive behavioral strategies. Lauren began her career doing in-home crisis intervention where she worked with many systems, including schools and other medical professionals, for integrated care. As a result of this experience and her systemic training she understands and values how social, cultural, and biological influences can impact an individual. Lauren has also conducted and published research on the benefits of incorporating humor into therapy, creating space for laughter or playfulness, and the importance of the therapist/client relationship.
